History

Faculty of Engineering UMY was established on 24 Rabi’ul Akhir 1401 H, coinciding with 1st of March 1981 M, based on the Certificate of PWM DIY No: A-1/01.E/PWM/ 1981, on 26th of March 1981. At the beginning, Faculty of Engineering was only consisted of Civil Engineering Program and obtained the Registered Status based on the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture No: 0417/0/1985, on 1st of October 1985. Then, Electrical Engineering Program was established in 1992 and obtained the Registered Status based on the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture No: 05/Dikti/Kep/ 1993. In 1995, Mechanical Engineering Program was established and subsequently obtained the Registered Status based on the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture No: 05/Dikti/ Kep/1996. Finally, Informatics Engineering Program was established on 9th of July 2010 and obtained the decree of Ministry of Education and Culture No. 12568/D/T/K-V/2012, on 16th of July 2012. Informatics Engineering Program obtained B accreditation based on the decree of No: 2733/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/XI/2016 in 2016.
